We are also a AC Delco TSS shop. This may mean nothing to you, but what it means is that we are treated the same as a dealership. The only thing we cannot do is perform factory recalls. Otherwise Vander Wal's garage is truly your dealership alternative.

AC Delco sponsored the Ted Turner radio program which aired on Saturday mornings. This program only recommended our shop for service in the greater Shelton area.

The radio announcer came to our shop, interviewed Don, looked at our shop, saw the equipment we owned to work on our clients vehicles, interviewed the office staff. He was impressed by what we offered.

We were also voted best automotive shop in our local newspaper, the Mason County Journal. We were rated best overall for the Shelton/Mason County area.

Don Vander Wal has 38 years experience. He worked with his father, Peter K. Vander Wal before his passing. Don managed the business, then later bought the family business. Not only is his name on the line, but his reputation as well. There is a lot of pride owning and operating a second generation business.

All of our technicians are ASA certified. Which means they have gone to school and passed the requirements needed to perform accurately and intelligently, the needed repairs or services required for your vehicle.

We also exclusively feature Amsoil synthetic products. We were the first in synthetics. This is a superior product. Don thinks these are the best products since sliced bread. This gives you a longer time before oil services. Is good for the environment, and keeps your vehicle running cooler which can also give you better gas mileage.

We also offer BG products. They have a lifetime warranty on all flush services and intervals that should be done on your vehicle anyway. There are no hidden fees or charges for this lifetime protection plan. Sue Vander Wal is a certified service adviser. She has put in many hours of schooling. She has been with the company now for 20 years.

It is our goal to always have the correct diagnostic tools and equipment for our foreign and domestic vehicles. We have on staff a technician who excels in foreign vehicle repairs and services. He understands how they tick.

Marlo is our full charge bookkeeper, who comes with many accolades as well. She was the office manager at BMW Bellevue, we are pleased to have her on our staff.

Don and Sue Vander Wal give back to the community as well. We support Youth for Christ, a local organization that helps mentor children after school. They belong to the local chamber of commerce, as well as the Automotive Service Association. We donate to local charities, and auctions. We also give to Mason County Literacy every year in their fund raiser, "Spell a bration".
